Labelled as the “Wonder Vegetable” of 2006, beetroot is a valuable source of a large number of essential nutrients including folic acid and, of course, boron—allegedly excellent for your love life!  It also has valuable anti carcinogens and is a convenient contributor to a healthy “5 a day” diet.

Axgro is one of the largest processors of beetroot in the UK.  A huge proportion of our output is grown and graded on our own farms thus reducing the number of “food miles” and improving the environment.

Beetroot products include:

• Raw graded beets
• Peeled and cooked beets
• Pre-packed beetroot in a number of sizes
• “Long Life” beetroot—retort cooked giving an ambient life of up to 6 months
• Diced Beetroot
• Sliced Beetroot
• Pickled Beetroot
• Flavoured beetroot (raspberry / orange etc)

Future developments include working with coated and roasted beets.  We are also working with trading partners on a number of projects including smoothies and beetroot & chocolate cake.
